Book #1 from the series: The Astonishing Aquanauts

Elise and The Astonishing Aquanauts

About

Elise is eleven years old when her dad suddenly passes away. Alone, she’s left with only her memories of the bedtime stories he once shared—stories of the eccentric heroes he called The Astonishing Aquanauts.
These were tales of adventure, monsters, and the power of hope when all seemed lost.
Elise once believed in these stories. In the harsh reality of her new life at an orphanage in Paris, she knows they were just silly fantasies.
Then comes the night the ocean disappears. The Seine is a desert. The city lies in ruins. Now, Elise navigates a world of living shadows and monstrous creatures, scavenging to survive. Survival, though, is only the beginning. To uncover the dark truth at the heart of the apocalypse, Elise joins forces with a broken old Aquanaut from those impossible bedtime stories. Together, they will risk everything on an unlikely journey to bring back the ocean.

Darkly whimsical and atmospheric—Elise and The Astonishing Aquanauts is the perfect adventure for fans of Coraline and A Series of Unfortunate Events.

From the author:

Writing this book was a daily 4 am boarding call fueled by caffeine, epic film soundtracks, French pop classics, a childhood reading Marvel comics and Doc Savage, and the tick tock tick tock of my own advancing years. What's the genre? I'm still not sure, although my plan was to throw adventure, fantasy, horror, and humor into a blender and let the readers be the judge. If you choose to take the trip I hope you find some fun and some hope along the way on this voyage with Les Scaphandriers.
